What is Bumper Bracket?

The bumper bracket is the link between the bumper and the body parts. When designing a bracket, first of all, it is necessary to pay attention to the strength issue, including the strength of the bracket itself and the strength of the connecting structure with the bumper or body. For the bracket itself, in the structural design, the strength requirements of the bracket can be met by increasing the main wall thickness or selecting PP-GF30 and POM materials with higher strength. In addition, reinforcing ribs will be added to the mounting surface of the bracket to prevent cracking when the bracket is fastened. For the connection structure, it is necessary to reasonably arrange the length, thickness and spacing of the cantilever connecting the buckle with the bumper skin to make the connection stable and reliable.

Of course, while ensuring the strength of the bracket, the lightweight requirements of the bracket must also be met. For the side brackets of the front and rear bumpers, try to design a "return" box-shaped structure, which can effectively reduce the weight of the bracket while meeting the strength requirements of the bracket, thereby saving the cost. At the same time, on the path of rainwater invasion, such as on the subsidence platform or installation table of the support, it is also necessary to consider adding leakage holes to prevent local water accumulation.

In addition, in the design process of the bracket, it is also necessary to consider the clearance requirements between it and the surrounding parts. For example, in the central position of the middle bracket of the front bumper, in order to avoid parts such as the bonnet lock and the bonnet lock bracket, the bracket needs to be partially removed and avoided, and this area should also be checked by the hand space. For another example, the large bracket on the side of the rear bumper usually overlaps with parts such as the pressure relief valve and the rear detection radar. The bracket needs to be removed and avoided according to the envelope of surrounding parts, wiring harness assembly and direction.
